I would like to make a case for exciting, young European designers, namely Barcelona based fashion brand Paloma Wool. Run by the talented Paloma Lanna, the Spanish label serves up an inspiring range of affordable clothing and manages to bring some fun into the equation by shooting her lookbooks on analogue film. What's more, her designs, made from natural fabrics and focusing on timeless silhouettes, aren't just fashion pieces, but converge with a well-considered art focus.
Paloma shoots all of her lookbooks herself – a feat I'm more than impressed by! I especially enjoyed finding out more about this multifaceted talent through her Freunde von Freunden portrait shot by Silvia Conde.
But let's not get distracted! Since Paloma Wool's new collection launched, I can't get her beautiful Picasso and Matisse inspired pieces out of my head. How great are this Jupo skirt and this matching Carini crop top – or even the Carlota I dress?! But the item I truly can't get enough of (and will have to purchase once it's back in stock) is the beautiful yet simple Hotel dress.
Update pre publication: I have just received the Souvenir II t-shirt after making a quick order to investigate whether the brand's quality lives up to my expectations. Besides the beautiful print, you can tell the t-shirt was made with a lot of care and is of great quality. I may just have to order another one. You know, as back-up...
