MARCH BEAUTY LOWDOWN
March flew by in no time and it's time for a quick lowdown of my favourite products of the month. And although I purchased quite a few new items last month, I am still testing the waters with most of them. So March was very much focused on old and (almost) forgotten products.
Recently my skin has undergone quite a few changes and hasn't been its usual spotless self. To fight the nasties without making more damage than good, I've been using Aesop Control, a great little gel. It gets rid of spots without dehydrating or stripping the skin and contains salicylic, niacinamide and lactic acid, tea tree oil and vitamin c, all on an aloe vera base. This means it calms the skin, hydrates and gets rid of the redness - basically it's a great product.
When I put in a big order of all things Pai Skincare about two months ago, the lovely ladies from Amazingy - my favourite organic beauty shop - were so kind as to include their Amazingy coconut lip balm. It's found a place in my bag wherever I go; the smell is divine and it keeps my lips nourished like no other balm.
When it comes to makeup my Laura Mercier Illuminating Tinted Moisturiser has just been rediscovered after spending a bit over 8 months in a box somewhere. Because it's quite a shiny product I tend to either mix it in with another tinted moisturiser or only put it on in the evening. It's a great product when you're looking for a bit of shine, but beware, after all you don't want to look like Edward Cullen in the sun!
Also an oldie, yet still a goldie, is my Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Damned, which I bought about a year ago. I love rediscovering old products and this pencil is just the right colour to quickly glam up my appearance. I often use it as a stain when I go to work, but in the evenings I build it up for a darker and stronger look. Unfortunately it seems to have been discontinued...
A new product is the Chanel Illusion D'Ombre cream eyeshadow in the colour Emerveille, which I've been using pretty much everyday so far. It's so nice and creamy and is great for adding a bit of colour to your eyes.
