In Seven Days Around The Web #30
So this week's internet gold may be coming to you a little later than usual, but I assure you it was worth the wait. It's full of recipes, some inspiring videos, more than one inspiring graphic design project and some tips for house plants.
And before I forget: This is my 30th In Seven Days Around The Web post and that makes me feel great! Thank you all for sticking around and inspiring me to keep searching the web for content. Happy weekend!
With the almond milk craze at its peak, I was all the more happy about finding this hazelnut milk recipe by The Smitten Kitchen. Hazelnut is my all-time favourite nut and I will definitely be trying to make this at home!
Whistles only recently launched their menswear collection and I'm already a huge fan. To advertise the new range they have teamed up with Dazed and produced this video following Bradley Zero around his area.
Pudgemag have just started a new project called 'Snail Mail', where they send out a piece of paper in various sizes for you to fill with poems, stories etc. and send it back. I love writing letters to friends and so I find it all the more intriguing to take part in something a little bit more global and different.
How funny are these camera trap photos of a genet published on The National Geographic? (via Miss Moss)
Being a Graphic Design graduate I can't help but share some design news from time to time. This incredible project by the German graphic design studios L2M3 for the Bauhaus is incredible. Grafik spoke to Sascha Lobe, the head designer. Now I just need to find the Bayer Next font for download somewhere...
It's Nice That spoke to Alister Mackie about his latest cover for AnOther Magazine featuring Kate Mosse (which is also the tenth anniversary of Kate's debut cover for AnOther Magazine). It's well worth a read!
I tend to try and buy organic beauty where I can, so it's always handy to read reviews by beauty bloggers about the latest organic items for sale. Grace of That Grace Girl gave her verdict on a few organic brands including Antipodes and Trilogy.
Although this isn't the usual cheerful content, I still had to share this video with you. It's the story of a man that survived an ISIS massacre. It's terribly heart-wrenching, and I thought it was important to get his message out there.
Another great graphic design example is this identity for Studio Aves by Build. Inspired by famous British birds and featuring incredibly bright colours it's so special and unique, I straight away fell in love with it.
(German content) Die schottische Unhabhängigkeit beschäftigt momentan viele. Dieser Artikel in der Zeit beschäftigt sich vor allem mit der möglichen Währung. Sehr lesenswert!
I can't help but feature at least one of Cate's articles every week. This post on Julie Lansom and her beautiful Sputnik lamps really does deserve a spot in this week's selection. They remind me a little bit of the Ana Kras Bonbon lamps and I want one so badly!
Is Leipzig the new Berlin? The NY Times certainly seems to think so. A very interesting article on the eastern German city.
Olivia Rae James took some photos of the highline in New York. And trust me, they're making me want to see it for myself so much!
Ever wondered what plant was best for a house plant? (Well, apart from a cactus obviously) Into The Gloss has all the answers!
It's apple time! I'm going home in three weeks and there surely will be tonnes of apples waiting to be baked, turned into cider and eaten by yours truly. The food blog Krautkopf have just published a lovely recipe for an apple cake, which I'll be sure to test out, plus the little video that accompanies the recipes looks so good and makes me want to do a trip to the countryside!
That's it for this week!
