APRIL BEAUTY LOWDOWN
So who's as happy as me that April has come to an end? Nothing against the month April, but it means summer is close and I can finally put away all my tights, coats and jumpers! It also means rediscovering some old favourites and investing in some new ones...
Seeing as though the dark winter days are over, I thought it was time to get out my old rms Living Luminizer to get some glow. I bought this tub about a year ago and it's still going strong; it has some amazing ingredients (coconut oil ftw), gives the most subtle yet beautiful glow and also seems to nourish your skin in the progress. Anyone that doesn't like glittery or powdery highlighters will fall in love with this product!
I must admit, I have really let my nail routine slip throughout the winter. Lack of time and light meant I didn't care much for painted nails. Well all that has changed and I've just repurchased the Nail Foundation base coat by butter London. It's the best base coat I have ever come across, smoothing out any ridges and prepping your nails for your nail polish.
My skin hasn't been that great recently, so a good concealer has somewhat been missing from my makeup routine. I don't really like thick foundations and often opt for a light tinted moisturiser instead, so the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in the shade Vanilla has definitely been one of the best purchases this year (so far). It covers any blemishes with ease and even stays put through a nine hour shift at work. I know this product has a cult following and, believe me, it deserves it!
I'm such a makeup brush addict, I can't stop buying them. Because I've never owned a bronzer before (I know, shocking!) and recently bought myself a Nars Laguna bronzer, it was obviously time to splash out and invest in the perfect brush. Bobbi Brown brushes are of really good quality and are definitely made to last, so I bought myself the Bobbi Brown Bronzer brush. I have quite a small face so didn't want to buy a huge brush; this one is just right. The bristles are really soft and the brush picks up just enough product - I'm in love!
Lastly a skincare product; I've seen Caroline Hirons rave about this, so I had to try the Ren Omega 3 Optimum Skin serum oil for myself. It smell so good and makes my skin feel so much more soft and nourished. It's reasonably priced for a serum and will last you for ages, because you only need a small amount.
What were your beauty favourites in April?
